i think this calls for a celebration

he loves my hair, and constantly tells me so.
he gets it, he gets why it's a big deal for me to have it perfectly unstyled all the time.

the hair has become a turning point.
i didn't really get how much he got it, me, until he spoke to me in a seemingly casual way, yet saying something that touched me so deeply.

your hair is an analogy, don't you see?, he said laughing. -everything's always a joke and i have never met someone who makes me laugh as hard.-
your hair; sometimes it's up, often it's down, it twists and turns and you never really know where it's going to land. but the journey is always fun, and interesting, and different. if you smother or mistreat it, it puffs up in protective protest. if you smooth it out, it eventually calms down while mantaining some of that curly passion, as if to say, you can't change me!
don't you get it? your hair is just like you.

the entire time laughing, a joke, but really, an expression of true understanding.
no filter, no disguise.
just plain old you, and me.
